** MAJORITY WATERLOO APPLIANCE STORES TO CLOSE WEDNESDAYS Starting _ yesterday _ most Kitchener and Waterloo appâ€" liance stores will be closed all day Wednesday. They are Spokesman, Arthur Boegel, said the stores had decided to take some initiative in the present state of uncertainty wbout store hours. About 17 stores will remain open Friday nights until} 9 p.m. and close at 6 p.m. on the other weekdays, except Wedâ€" nesday. The new hours, Mr. Boegel said, would permit store staffs to enjoy a shorter work week of five days and also would allow for family shopping with one late night. Petitions â€" are _ circulating among all Kitchener stores now for the reappeal of preâ€" sent store closing bylaws â€" many of which date back 30 years and allow only late Saturday shopping.
