When I say blasted, man thats what I mean. That 375 Wwent off like a small cannon. Everything we hit appeared to have been struck by lightning and the gun itself shot like target model. â€" * ï¬ï¬‚ememldomabootmgpalshdhddedm.bout but this particular gun is a bit on the muzzle heavy side and the lift didn‘t seem too bad at all Possibly at the end of about a hundred cartridges we would have a different ovinion, but the possibility of that happening seems pretty While I haven‘t got around to trying it, claim is that this gun will toss a slug right through the engine block of a car. If this is the case a fellow should be able to venâ€" tilate a moose or bear right from the tip of his nose to the same portion of his tale. Not that I‘m hunting any dadâ€" burned moose with a revolver, but its a nice thing to have around. If, from reading this, you 2re getting an itchy trigger finger and the urge to rush out and buy yourself a 375 Magnum, take it easy, This is a businessâ€"like weapon that will probably do everything claimed for it, but its an exâ€" pensive cannon to shoot and mot for those bothered by reâ€" coil or muzzle blast. On the other hand, if you like the heft of a real man size gun %hat will still ride well in a houlder holster and command and lot of respect if you do have occasion to use it, then rush all you like. I like this big magnum, even if it does shakeall the small limbs off the trees every time you pull the trigger. + SPRING MUST BE CROWDâ€" ING~ the proverbial corne? pretty tight for we are now starting to hear taik about perch and smelt fishing. At least a dozen persons have asked today if the trout seaâ€" son will open on the Thursâ€" day, which is the 1st of May, or will the Department of Lands and Forests open it the Saturday before, as they have been doing the past few The answer to the trout business is that frankly I don‘t know at the minute, but 1I‘1l be surprised as heck if the season isn‘t opened Satâ€" urday, April 26. Actually, so far as cutting into the trout population, speckled trout that is, it wouldn‘t matter if the season was opened in March. The speckles are through spawnâ€" ing by then anyway. Personally, we would like to see the speckled trout season open earlier and close earlier. Not because we don‘t like fishing for these beautiful fish in the early fall, but because by the middle of August they are starting to carry spawn, a fact that cannot be detected until the fish is being cleaned. While we are on the subâ€" iect of frout, how about this «ize limit business? From what we hear, the small fish being kept instead of being fired back in the water, in many cases to die, is proving & success with pickerel and base. The same should now be tried with speckled trout. We think it would provide more trout in THE CROWS ARLE NOW conâ€" C t ’ii * PV .:‘xï¬ hesstiatirin sns o in ts > c w\ en d Aatanins Chaiit e o9 2 o rag M ut ie iï¬ Ananiap x tor h â€" ts 2 Oe . h w c sn n h f f h s 8e * : * woe K ies ' rmatamene uy > * a*** T ’:. e Mess . , i M h‘ #. It could even be that I like what the old boys return represents and not him at all. Crows being*‘crows, my afâ€" fection for them is of short duration and the crow call and scattergun soon replaces any feeling of good fellowship. While not a game bird, the crow is certainly a lot of fun to hunt and in these days of short limits and hunting seaâ€" sons, provides an outlet for many who would otherwise pull the trigger of their favâ€" ourite musket, very few times during the year. WORD IS THAT perch will replace the customary apeckâ€" led trout for paid fishing at the local Sportsmen‘s Show this year. We hope this is true, not that there was any particular harm in fishing for these hatchery trout, but catching them from a tank could create the wrong imâ€" pression with some of our younger sportsmen. Don has been electâ€" ed to select a team from outr club and he is anxious to hear from the boys that are interâ€" ested. He has made arrangeâ€" ments for a place for the boys to practice, at least once A week. Thanks alot Doug, it cerâ€" tainly was appreciated. Bowling team captains are auked to please note.
