The speaker gave an interesting outline of the work of the Gideons which are a band of Christian Commercial _ travellers, undenominational in organization who place Bible in hotels, schools, hospitals and jails and during the war provided service Testaments for those in the armed forces. The organization had its beginning in Wisconsin in 1898 and in Canada in 1911. There are 593 Gideons in Canada with 28 camps, the city of Kitchener having one of the newest camps. The Canadian Gideons who have already placed 250,000 Bibles in various institutions are also reâ€" sponsible for the work that is carâ€" ried on in Bermuda, India and Paâ€" lestine. the Canada Synod at the Palm Sunday evening service held at the church. Dr. Reble chose for the text of his sermon Matt. 21:5. The theme, "Christ, the King" was deâ€" veloped to bring out the paradox of the Spiritual King whose earthly surroundings were of the humblest. Serving the King by instant obeâ€" dience, loving service, with loyalty and cheerfulness and confessing him willingly were stressed as the Palm Sunday lesson. Dr. Reble also commended the congregation highâ€" ly for its immediate response to the Lutheran World Action Appeal. "The need of the earth," said Dr. Reble, "is the need of the Lord". During the service the choir sang an anthem, "Come Â¥Ye That Love the Lord." \ A service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church on Good md‘ifi evening. Holy Communion w also be observed at the church serâ€" vice on Easter Sunday morning preâ€" ceded by an Easter song service by the Sunday School. _ The Blenheim Mennonite Young People‘s Society met at the church on Sunday evening with Clare Sniâ€" der occupying the chair, and Miss Hilda Bean as song leader. Paul Good read the scripture lesson folâ€" lowed by prayer by Gilbert Berâ€" \gey. In keeping with the topic, "With Christ in His Crucifixion". Miss Eileen Eby presented an essay on the subject "How we are unitâ€" ed with Jesus in Death". Talks were also given on the following subjects: "What that union and crucifixion accomplishes for us", by Kenneth Shantz and "Living the Crucified Life", by Joseph Good. The closing prayer was offered by Rev. Mosses N. Baer. ing prayer was offered by David Rife a member of a Prayer Group from the Galt Collegiate Institute which was present to assist with tne service. Others from the group took part as follows: a vocal solo by Miss Doreen Fowler; and perâ€" sonal testimonies by Jim Rendle Wilfred Elsby and David Rife, who also contributed a vocal trio. Mrs. Carl Schiedel read the scripture lesson and personal testimonies were given by Oliver Zimmerman of the Baptist Church, Miss Mary Kaster of the United Brethren Church and Clarence Pfohl of the M.BC. Church. The Fireside choir rendered three selections, namely: "Be Still and Know"; a medley of Negro spirituals; and an Easter anâ€" them, "The Old, Old Story". The benediction was given by Rev. H. Shantz, president of the Fireside. Rev. E. Girigerich was in charge of the service and in keeping with Palm Sunday the choir sang an anâ€" them, "God‘s Beloved Son."
