On Monday evening the mem- bers of the executive of the Wilmot Township Sunday School Associa- tion met at the home of the secre- tary-treasurer. Mr. Clarence and Mrs. Diamond. regarding plans for the forthcoming annual convention. There was a splendid attendance and the meeting was in charge of the president, Mr. Herbert Kaster. of Mannheim, who opened with a word ot prayer. Following the reading and adoption of the min- utes of the last meeting. corre- spondence was read by the secre- tary from Rev. M. E. R. McLean of Toronto, secretary of the Ontario Religious Educational Council and dealing with convention program PM! no One public organization in the province of Ontario in publicizing the Fourth Victory Loam Campaign among itshnembers, reduced its thinking to the following words,-- “It takes more than taxes to conquer the Axis." It is interesting to observe how plain ordinary words are often grouped to drive home simply a very important truth. \ We can take the greater part of Finance Minister Usley's able budget speech. analyze it, and find that the sentence quoted ibove sums up Mr. llsley's thinking remarkably well. If all Canadians thoroughly understood that all our taxes, heavy though they may be, are not sufBeient to give our boys in uniform what they need to batter down the citadel of Berlin, the succisstut sale of Fourth Victory Loan Bonds, totalling 8i,100,000,000 is assured. Our Canadian heroes will not travel tttree-quarters of the way to Berlin and then call off their mission. Neither will the folks back home stop short of the full financial objective needed for Canada's complete war ettort. Tax payments take us only halt way. Bond purchases will enable us to go all the way. Sunday School Executive Meets THE WATERLOO CHRONICLE a: In. Chane. Din-old (Chan-kl! Com” BADEN Drparlmonl of Finnnrr.
