Special music was again supplied by the ladies‘ quartette from Goâ€" shen College, Goshen, Ind. The bene dictory prayer offered by S. J. Miller of Pigeon, Mich., brought to a close the dedication ceremony. Many Unable to Get in The congregation was estimated at about 500 and many were unable to get in. People came from the community and surrounding districts An offering was taken to aid in meetâ€" ing the unpaid balance. Evening Service Miss Mae Florondorf of Goshen led the song service opening the evening worship, followed by scripâ€" tural reading by Rev. C. L. Gragber and testimony by a former Sunday The dedication sermon was delivâ€" ered by ‘Bishop S. F. Coffman of Vineland. In his sermon the bishop laid spacial stress on the fact that the important thing in the service was not the material structure, but the people in whom God lives. The service then proceeded with the deâ€" dicatory responsive service in which the people all participated. Financial Statement The treasurer, Edwin Shantz, gave the financial standing of the new $9,200 church. The minister, S. M. Kanagy, officially returned the keys to the chairman of the building comâ€" mittee with the command to uphold and preserve the symbols for which they stood. Oliver Snyder, member of the building committee, sincerely thanked those who freely gave their assistance in good will for the buildâ€" ing of this structure, which made a reality to some of the members‘ viâ€" sions. ‘The ladies‘ quartette sang "Lead Me On". The closing prayer and benediction were given by Rev. C. L. Graeber of Goshen, Ind. Afternoon Service With the auditorium, gallery and basemeifts crowded to capacity, the dedicatory service in the afternoon, formally. opened the new edifice. Bishop M. H. Hallman of Peetersâ€" burg read the opening scripture, which was followed by prayers from B.â€"B. Shantz and Bishop Jonas Sniâ€" der. Neisun Bechtel, chairman of the building committee paid tribute to all those who had any connecâ€" tion with the erection of the buildâ€" ing since last May 15. Kanagy. Morning Services A large congregation filled the auditorium of the new church for the morning service at 11 a.m. The beauâ€" tiful plainess of the interior of the church was greatly admired. Bishop Kanagy, pastor of the new church, opned the service and delivered a short address of welcome. Scripture reading was taken by Rev. J. W. Witâ€" mer and prayer was offered by Biâ€" shop Kanagy. The ladies quartette from Goshen favored with the hymn "My Faith looks up to Thee". Rev. Groh Preaches Rev. H. D. Groh of Toronto, & forâ€" mer pupil of the Sunday School and church and son of Anson Groh, the oldest member of the congregation, spoke briefly of being converted in the little old church about 25 years ago and now he was glad to come to the opening of this new modern church. ... Bunday marked the dedication of the new Wanner‘s Mennonite Church with three special services. In the morning the beautiful edifice was opened for Sunday School. The first car of turnips was shipped from Doon on Monday. Mrs. Mary Milington and Aif. Millington of Toronto spent the weekâ€"end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Teeet. f A Hallowe‘en party was held at the Doon Public School on Monday. The afternoon was spent in games. Apâ€" ples, candy and cookies proved welâ€" come additions to the program. No Dmage On Hallowe‘en, Mrs. R. Jones and Kay Jones were visitors in Preston on Friday. "San" Ladies Meet. The Doonâ€"Blair Ladies‘ Auxiliary to the Freeport Sanatorium was held at the home of Miss Ethel Wilfong on Thursday evening. Mrs. N. Sipes took the chair. Routine business was transacted and Miss Wilfong end Mrs. H. R. Baer were appointed visitors for November. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Baer. At the close of the meetâ€" ing the members adjourned to the dining room where delicious refreshâ€" ments in the Hallowe‘en motive were served. ‘The table was decorated with orange paper and candles of black in orange holders with a pumpâ€" kin fac as a centre piece. Rev. Walter Paterson of Preston conducted a communion service at the Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoon and Rev. C. Tilbury of Galt conducted the service at the Doon United Church on Sunday afâ€" ternoon. A number of small children were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert McGarvey on Saturday in honor of little Miss Lorraine Mcâ€" Garvey‘s fourth birthday. In addiâ€" tion to games a feature of the afterâ€" noon was a dance number presented by litle Miss Mariiyn Jefkins of Preston. At the tea hour the chilâ€" dren sat down to the table attrac tively decoraed in Hallowe‘en color scheme of orang and black. Each guest received a paper hat and basâ€" ket of candy. Mrs. McGarvey was assisted in looking after Lorraine‘s guests by Mrs. Richard Drager, Mré. M. Fisher of Doon and Mrs. F. W. Jefkins of Preston. The Young People‘s Society of the Doon Presbyterian Church were enâ€" tertained at the Y.PXC.E. at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Preston on Monday evening. The delightful event was in the form of a Hallowâ€" e‘en party. The evening was epent in Hallowe‘en games. At the close of the evening lunch was served by Mrs. T. Elnaugh and her commitâ€" Rev. Henry Goudie stressed the importance of children attending Sunday School and said things planted in the little minds are alâ€" ways remembered. Many others were entertained at the members‘ homes. ‘The ‘2dies‘ quartette from Goshen, Ind., and Rev. C. L. Gracber returned Monday by way of Niagara Falls. ‘The autumn communion service will be held at Wanner ‘Mennonite Church on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. years of age from Markham, Ont. He spoke of his early childhood when he learned the A B C‘s in German and to read and write in the Wanâ€" ner‘s Sunday School. He recalled the day when the church was opposed to Sunday School and the SBunday School started in opposition to the church. The first minister of Wanner‘s Church was Jacob Brets, who lived at Fisher Mills, he said. He recalled when the family came to church in the sloigh and tramped the deep snow to tie the horses to the old wooden fence. Abram Clemons was deacon of the church at that time. Rev. Mr. Clayton Brubacher suffered an injury while splitting wood, when a splinter flew back inflicting a bad wound on his leg below the knee. The Junior League of Calvary Church met on Monday evening after their lengthy holiday to reâ€"orâ€" ganize for their winter activities,. We eannot borrow money for relief when we are oporating on a payâ€"asâ€"yougo City council Monday night filed a confirmatory letter from the Ontario Welfare Department stating the govâ€" ernmen would assume 70 per cent of Kitchener‘s relief costs from May until the end of September. "If our funds are exhausted we will have to quit giving relief," statâ€" ed Mayor Gordon. "With lessening relief costs, however, and the 70 per cent from the government, we may be able to squeeze through until Dec. 1." he said. by Mayor George W.
