4 Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Moyer, John street, have returned from a visit to the South. Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Blackwell, of London, were the guests of the latter‘s sister, Mrs. R. S. Bean and Mr. Bean, Albert street, during the weekâ€"end. Mrs. John Becker, of Dashwood. formerly of this district, celebrated her 95th birthday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Martene. Born in Kreis Lauderbach, Hessenâ€" Darmstadt, Germany, the octogenâ€" arian came to Canada when she was 21 years old. She married Mr. John Becker, who had immigrated to Canada several years earher. After their marriage, the couple lived for a few years near Elmira, later settling in May township, county of Huron. Mrs. Stuart Good of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Gordon Cock of Newmarket are at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Shantz, Weber street east, having been callâ€" ed home owing to the illness of their mother, who underwent an operaâ€" tion at the K.â€"W. Hospital. Messrs. E. C. Greb, William Knell and Verne Miller of Toronto left Friday for Florida where they will spend several weeks.
