Mr. and Mre. Josiah Cassel Observe Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Cassel, highlyâ€" ecteemed residents of this village celebrated their golden wedding anâ€" miversary at their bome on Friday, Jan. lst. They were united in marriâ€" age in 1887 by the Rev. Jacob Bowâ€" man, pastor of the United ‘Brethren Church at New Dundee. Mrs. Cg_uol was formerly Miss Sarabh Aun Halk man, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abram (Hallman Sr., who residâ€" ed one and oneâ€"half miles west of New Dundee and Mr. Caseel was the eon of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse B. Cassel also of this community. They were attended by Miss Ida M. Kolb of Kitchener and the bride‘s brother, Mr. Abram S. Hallman who now lives in Montreal, Que. After their marriâ€" age Mr. and Mrs. Cassel resided on the groom‘s farm near New Dundee which is now owned ‘by Mr. Irvin Saâ€" raras. In 1904 they purchased the farm of Mr. Josiah (Hallman, three and oneâ€"half miles west of this vilâ€" lage which is now owned by Mr. Cameron (Bock. In 1917 they retired flom farming and moved into the village where they have spent the past twenty years. There are four children, living, namely: Mrs. L. VanSickle of Calâ€" gary, Alta., Clayton Cassel of Plattsâ€" ville; Mrs. I. M. The above comment was made by Magisâ€" trate S. A. Joes at court Thursday when he found Gordon Hughson, of Ayr, guilty of driving a truck while intoxicated. Hughson appeared in court on reâ€" mand on a charge latd by Traffic Officer Parmenter as a result of Hughsons‘ arrest following a large atea being plunged into darkness on Christmas Eve when a truck struck a hydro pole. A hardâ€"driving taxi driver ignored a red signal, threatened the traffic policeman‘s knees, missed the street island by a hair, and grazed a bus, ail in one dash. "Listen,. cowboy!" he growled.
