TOMAN The annual meeting of the memâ€" bere of the New Dundee Library was held at the Library last Wednesday evening. The former board of direcâ€" tors was reelected, from which the following offices were chosen for the year: president, Mrs. F. E. Page; viceâ€"president, Miss Sylvia Bock; secretaryâ€"treasurer, Mr. E. A. Poth. Mr. H. Kavelman was reâ€"engaged as librarian. The annual report of the secretaryâ€" treasurer showed that more money was epent for new books last year than in the previous year. We know that the library is a worthy instituâ€" tion in our community and is deservâ€" ing of generous patronage by the public. The membership fee is very reasonable which entitles members to an unlimited supply of first class reading matter, including: science, religion, biography, literature, hisâ€" tory,. travel, fiction and juvenile. A rew Lincoln encyclopedia has recentâ€" ly been added and a generous supply of popular magazines is also at the disposal of the members. Enjoy Social Time. s Last Friday evening the members of the Women‘s Institute gathered at the home of Mrs. E. S. Brown, in honor of Miss Clara Reekie of the local Royal Bank staff, who has been traneferred to Grand Valley. A pleaâ€" sant time was epent in contests, and a spelling match was also enjoyed. During the evening Miss Reekie was presented with a pretty rock erystal pin and an address. The serving of dainty refreshments then brought the evening to a close. Miss Reekie was also made the reâ€" cipient of a lovely pendant on beâ€" half of the local ladies® softball team, of which she was an enthusiastic 'member Besides this, Miss Reekie was preâ€" gented with a handsome pair of sllver vases by the local bank staff of which she has been a most valued and efficient member for the last three years. Literary Society Program. The monthly meeting of the N.DC.8. Literary Society was held at the echool last Friday afternoon. The president, Anson Lang, occupied the chair, and the meeting opened with the singing of "O Canada".
