Mr. and Mrs. Lafayette Hostetler who have recently returned from a motor trip to St. John‘s, New Brunswick, have given a short des- cription ot their trip east by request. A trip of wonderful beauty with each day's travel through a dilterent type of scenery. From home to Toronto by the splendid Waterdown highway and from there route 2 took us through Oshawa. Port Hope, Bellevllle and Kingston. The latter city In picturesquely located at the eastern end of Lake Ontario. where the wetere find their way into the St. Lawrence river. The tour tol- lows through Gananoque, Brockville. Prescott and Cornwall, thence to Montreal. The greater part of the distance, along the beautiful St. Lawrence River. Leaving Montreal we continued on route 2 through Assumption, Mastinonge and Three Rivers to Quebec City. This city is grandly situated on the high hanks ot the St. Lawrence. It is typical of old France with its ir- retruiar"streetis and quaint homes. An interesting trip from here is to St. Anne de Beaupre and Mont- Inorency Falls. From Quebec we we crossed by terry to Levis. From there we followed a most beautiful road along the St. Lawrenqa up high and then down by the river with mountaintralways across from us as far as River du Loup. We turned south here and followed the ' Edmoneton highway through the woods of lower Quebec. being namely out of sight ot some beauti- ful waterway the whole distance. We followed the valley of the St. John through Grand Falls. Freder- Ickmn on to St. Johns. In this city we had a most delightful visit with our daughter and son-in-taw, Mr. and Mrs. McClure. with whom we had many enjoyable sight-seeing tripe, Our return trip was made by a dit- Ierent route. Prom St. Johns along the beautiful coast road we passed through St. Andrew's by the sea and on to Bangor, Maine. From here we drove through the wonderful moun- tein states. the White Dianna!” of New Hampshire, the Green Moun- telns of Vermont and the Adiron- ducke or New York. The New Eng- lund towns with their broad streets. milicent eime and dignified white dwellings were all worth remember- in. We drove to Burlington, Ver- mont, ferried across the lovely Lake Champlain to the Aneahle Churn etl Port Kent and in through Lake Pin. cid. Serene lake to Poudam.' From there we passed through 03- denebnrx. where we ferried to Pres. cott and returned home. With two or three weehe‘ holidays for motor. In; this trip is quite worth while to plan.
