The village trustees last woek greatly improved King Street by having the road grader go over so that motorists mow have a good piece of gravel road through here, linking up the concrete higlgway at St. Jacobs with the concrete roadâ€" way at Bridgeport. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Strch and son Russell were visitors with yelatives at St. Jacobs on Sunday. Mr. Ed. J. Pfeffer was a business visitor to Elmira on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Adam Engel of Watâ€" erloo were over Sunday visitors at the home of Mrs. Fred Weppler. Miss Gertie Weppler of Kitchener spent Sunday at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Guido Koch and famâ€" ily are visiting at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Kust Koegler. Mr. Carl Steiss of Galt spent over Sunday at his home here. Mesrs. Henry and John Scheerer of Elmira were Sunday visitors at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry &cheerer. Commenced Seeding. Owing to the exceedingly fine seeding weather last week farmers have made good progress with the work. Reports have come in ‘rom some who had already finished seedâ€" ing by the week end while quite a few will be done this week. Personals and other items as told by Waterloo Chronicle correspondents Rev. E. Holm of St. Jacobs conâ€" ducted the services in the Lutheran Church on Sunday afternoon. The service next Sunday will be held at. the usual hour in the forencon. Annual Conference. Preliminary preparations are being made by the Lutheran congregation for the Lutheran Canada Synod which willconvene in their church here for their annual sessions, at the end of the month. It is esti. mated that there will be 75 or 80 ministers and delegates in altendâ€" ance at the meetings which last about five days during which evenâ€" ing services will be a held, a schedâ€" ule of which will be announced later. An impressive service will be the ordination .in to the Holy Ministry of Student John Mangelsen who is one of this year‘s graduating class and has been making his home in this village for quite a number of yeard.
