While a farmyard cook was prepar Ing food for the animals at the Lonâ€" don Asylum for the Insane late Thursâ€" day afternoon, sparks from the chimâ€" ney of the piggery kitchen started a fire that cost $8,000. ‘The roof of one of the piggery buildings was blazing when a passerby gave the alarm. Galt, Sept. 3.â€"This morning the first sod was turned for a dwelling to be erected by the Galt Housing Commission, which has decided to build six houses, three of two‘ difâ€" ferent siyles, as samples for prosâ€" pective purchesers to see what they are gotting. The Commission has deâ€" layed action owing to high tenders, but now has succeeded in getting conâ€" tracts with the $3,500 limit set by the Ontario Housing Act.
