The schoql has done well in upholding their worthy record of past years and is deserving of praise from the town‘s citizens. Of tbe 31 pupils who wrote on the examinations 29 successfully passed with honors and no pupil failed ‘to make a pass. In the past ten years 250 Preston pupils have tried the enâ€" trance examination, of which all were successful in passing, and only 16 failâ€" ed to take honors. Blaze on Saturday. ; A local man taken into custody reâ€" cently by Chief Crawford appeared in the courts on Saturday charged with being drunk on the street and conseâ€" quently paid a fine of $10 and costs, amounting in all to $16.20. Once more on Sunday the Chief took charge of him, this time for being disorderly as well ‘as intoxicated. He was asked to pay a fine of $20 and costs. For some reason the money was not forthcoming so he was given an option of three months in the city of Kitchener which he accepted. Another fellow who also was intoxicated Sunday was taxed $10 and costs which made his account total $17.45. A second charge was laid against him by Chief Crawâ€" ford for having whiskey in his possesâ€" sion. The fine in this case was quite a substantial one, being $204. The money was not paid over so he accomâ€" panied the other victim. They both will spend three months in the Countyl Town for }he'lr offences. | Successful Pupils. { deal xduttomlon.
