Howard Simpson, and James Livingston, all of whom are elegible for reâ€"election. On behalf of the Board e LA L. wl ‘gn, Waterloo, January 23rd, 1915. In moving the adoption of the report Viceâ€"President Diebel referred in feeling terms to the unavoidable‘ absence of â€" President Snider through illness. "I am sure," said the Viceâ€"President, "that we all keenly feel ~his absence, and trust that he may soon regain his former good health, so that we may have the pleasure of his companionship and the benefit of his wise counsel, which has always been of great value to the Board of Directors." In commenting upon the report Mr. Diebel said it was again of a very satisfactory nature, showing a good profit on the year‘s business and a steady gain in the assets of the company, which now closely approached the million dollar mark. The Company was seemingly unaffected by the financial string: ency that he hoped had reached its climax during the past year, being able to report a considerable increase in the amount of business â€" inâ€" force as compared with the previous year. _ o <o o4 «* . uie In seconding the motion to adopt the report Mr, Jas. Livingston of Baden, exressed his regret at the absence of the President, through iliness, and hoped for his early recovery. He had had the pleasure of being a colleague of Mr. Snider on the Board of the Company for over thirty years and had learned to respect his sound judgment in business affairs and to esteem his good socia} qualities. Mr. Livingstone in analysing certain features of the reort referâ€" red to the growing amount of gilt edged securities that were reresented in the Company‘s assets. The high interest rate ea@rned, in many cases seven per cent., was becoming an increasingly important factor in swelling the Comâ€" pany‘s income. > The report was unanimously adopted. The annual financial statement was then presented by the Managingâ€"Direcâ€" tor, Mr. Frank Haight, who gave a brief but ting analysis of the figures it contained. The year‘s business had been sa ry. . The amount of business in force Itad increased, while theâ€"losses were less than the previous year, enabling the Company to again add a substantial a bringing the total assets up to $889,335. & C ‘The scrutineers, Messrs. D. A. Bean and~ J. C. Haight, reported the unanimous reâ€"election of the three directors, Messrs. Geo. Diebel, Jas. Livâ€" ingston, and J. H. Simpson. ¢ oi esR CC & _ Votes of thanks were unanimously passed to the Board of Directors, the manager and office staff and the agents of the company. ~.. $ Upon motion the Managingâ€"Director, Mr. Frank Haight, was, on â€" the suggestion of chairman Diebel, unanimously voted a month‘s leave of absence, to be taken at his pleasure during the year. In the discussion that followed it was brought out that the manager, who is about to complete his 30th year as an executive of the Company, 15 years as assistant manager in association with the late C. M. Taylor, and 15 years as manager, has confined himself so closely to the business of the Company that he has not taken a holiday in all this period. Needless to say the leave of absence was cheerfully granted. In replying Mr. Haight thanked those present for their action. In feeling terms he spoke of his long relationship with the Company, and the bond that has resultd with the members of the Board. As manager he has been, perhaps, most closely associated with the president, and it was a matter of deep reâ€" gret that his illness prevented him from being present _ _ _ _ ___ Mr. A. Foster and Mr. J. C. Haight suitably acknowledged the vote of thanks to the agents. 5 Before adjourning a resolution of sympathy, to President Snider, moved by Messrs.
