Mr. Doering replied that the addiâ€" tional money to be spent would be over $10,000, and he was quite willâ€" ing to have this entered in the byâ€" law. Mir. Shuh asked the Councillors if they: would rather give a loan o# $20,000 or $25,000 for the erection of arew building, at a cost of $30,000 or $35,000, or give $15,000? Mr. Woeller suggested that a speâ€" cial committee be appointed of the Council to look into the matter and report at a later meeting. However, be withdrew this, and said he was heartily in favor of the idea. Reeve Wegenast said he thought Messrs. Doering and â€" bis associates had as much right to come _ belote the Council and ask for a loan as any other company. However, he thought the ratepayers ought to bhave more information before they were iasked to vote on it. ‘‘The proposition looks good to me," said Councillor Mover, _ "and there is no reason I can see why we should delay any longer than necesâ€" sary, but have a _ byâ€"law prepared and submitted to the people. Mr. Doering replied that they did rot know as yet, as no tenders had been called for. He stated that it won‘d cost $11,000 to purchase â€" the former Wardell Greene property, and the company would promise to spend at least another ten thousand _ dolâ€" lats on the plant. One of the William St. residents complained that one half of the peoâ€" ple living on the street were being taxed for sprinkling the street while the other half was not.
