Although deceased had been suffering for seyâ€" eral months from Bright‘s disease it was hoped he would rally, until a week ago, when he took a turn for the worse and gradually | sank. Mr. Ratz was the second son of the late John Ratz and was born _ in Woolwich township in 1860. He conâ€" ducted a flour mill in Salem _ for some years, after which he came to Elmira and has since been in â€" the milling business with | his | brother here. He served in the Council, was Reeve for two years and _ County Councillor two years. _ At the last Provincial election he was the Lib eral candidate for North Waterloo. Mr. Ratz will be greatly missed | in this community and his family have the sympathy of the community in their affliction. A widow and | three daughters survive. The funeral which took place on Monday afternoon was very largely attended, and the floral offcrings were very numerous . and beautiful. Among those who attendâ€" ed the funeral were, Mr. and Mrs. A.
