There was a good sized audience and the rendering l of the ditricult cantata was a distinct. I artistic musical success, and marks _ an important advance in choral sing- ing in the Twin-City. The cantata is replete with solos, duets, trios; mix- ed choruses, choruses tor ladies' and gerrtlernea's voices, and inspiring uni: son passages, and the treatment p3. corded the various parts, under tht able direction of Miss Bean, who has had the work under mutation for some months past, was at all times musicianly and in perlect. harmony with the general theme of this beautiful composition. The' solo- ists tor the occasion were Miss; ,Elma Snider, soprano, Miss Blanche‘ Bean, contralto, Mi. Frank Beinrose, ot Sherbourne street Methodist choir, Toronto, tenor. and Mr. Alfred Stur- Jock, leader at Erskine Presbyterian choir, Toronto, baritone.
