While Mrs. Watâ€" son was engaged in preparing the evenâ€" ing meal the fire it appears was rather slow in burning and in order to make it more brisk coal oil was resorted to as the means, and while pouring it on the fire already there, it came up in a blaze around the can and . down into the can by the spout instantly igniting the contents of the can and in a moâ€" ment after exploding it throwing the burning contents over Mrs. Watsonand completely enveloping het in flames. "I‘hu unfortunate woman ran outside threw hersolf in the grass, vainly enâ€" deavoring to extinguish the flames Her eldest boy Tommy severely burned his hand in attempting to pull off the burning clothing from his mother. About 10 minutes after when Mr.Watâ€" son came in from the fields he found his wife with the clothing all burned oif of her with the exeeption of a few shreds. She was removed to the house and medical aid summoned which was hastily responded to by two medical men from Borlin and Dr. Ochs, the family physician, from Hespeler who did all they could to reliove her sufferâ€" ings. When Mr. Watson first found her im among the burning grass she was unable to speak but after being removed to the house she rallied suftiâ€" ciently to tell how it happened. The medical men held out no ixopos of her recovery from the very firstas sho was too severcly burned especially about the chest.
