The park will be lit up with electricity and the pavilion will be brilliantly illuminated. No pains have been spared that will conâ€" duce to the comfort and pleasure of visitors and as there is but one Hosâ€" pital picuic in Waterloo each year, it is hoped this one will be generously patronized. We understand that the Mayor and the chairman of the Park Board have completed the purchase of a strip of land twenty feet in width from A. Janâ€" ischowski at the park entrance. ‘This will increase the width of the street to sixty feet. _ ‘The street will be at once properly filled and put in ‘shape. ‘The next step will be to erect a suitable gateway. â€" For this purpose the W. M. 8. and the bicycle club have already started a fund, the club contributing the sum of fifty dollars. _ The M. 8. Band will donate the proceeds of a concert to be given in the park at an early date. When the subject of a gate way was discussed some time ago in these colums a correspondent suggestâ€" «d that it be called "Victoria Gateâ€" way" after our revered sovereign, Queen Victoria. We trust, now that the street has been widened, steps will at once be taken to erect a gateway that will be in harmony witht the beauty of the park within. > A fine game of cricket took place at Woestside Park on Saturday afternoon when Waterloo defeated Berlin, by a score of 137 to 37.
