WOODEN WEDmmr-A very pleas- ant event took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Eh Hintzof Unionville, it being the occasion of the celebration of their Wooden Wedding. About tsixty-five of their friends were present on the occesion. The evening was very pleasantly spent in different parlor games, singing, dancing and other amusements. Beer and cider were on the bill of fare and about mid-night a sumptuous supper was served after which the gueats dispersed to their several homes feeling that they had spent a. most delightful evening. The presents were numerous and costly. We trust Mr. and Mrs. Hintz may live to see the celebration of their silver wedding. PERSONAL -Mra. Benjamin Snyder, who has been at Toronto waiting on her daughter-in law who has been sick with diphtheria, returned home last weelr.--Mism Meldrum, our assistant teacher, was unable to teach school last week on account of a severe cold. But as only two can be elected we hope to see Mr. Hellman and Mr. Shantz elected by a rousing mtrjority.--uani- cipal affairs are rather quiet as yet although there are a few flying rumors of a-number of candidates coming out as councillors. Have not heard anything definite as yee.--Wr, D. W. Clemens, who has been our councillor for the past two years is willing to accept the offiee again if the electors see fit to place him there.
