The many friends in this community of Mr. Samuel Slichter will deeply reâ€" gret to learn of his sudden death which took place at his nome, Brown City, Mich , the 14th inst. Juet a few days previous to his death Mr. Slichter was enjoying the best of bealth till on a Sunday when he conâ€" tracted a severe attack of inflammation. On October 11th,1893, be came to Cauvada and was married to Miss Allie Elsley, daughter of the late David Eisley. The bappy couple then left Canada apparâ€" ently quite confident that nothiny would ere to blight their bright and peaceful future in their new and comâ€" fortable bome in Brown City, but ala«! Death in her grey shroud of sorrow came +oon, oh so soon, to their door and called away the chief of home leaving the griefâ€"stricken wife with ber litt‘e babe to mourn the loss of a kind husâ€" band and loving father. The remains accompanied by Mr. Wesley Slichter and his sister Mrs. Huber, were brought to Bertin, where a large concourse of sorrowing friends and relations had gathered together to pay their last tribute of respect to their honorable and esteemed friend. _ After the funeral service which was conductâ€" ed by the Rev. Mr Hallman, of that town, the body was taker to Rose ville for interment. In tha death of Mr. Slichter, Brown City, loses one of its favorite citizens as he had been a diligent worker and a liberal supporter of his church as well as a friend of everybody. But no warmth of friendship, no favor of love can ever call him buck. Sleeping sweet ly, sleeping where the rain and the atorm will pass over his breast as harmâ€" lessly as the soft breeze of a gentle summer‘s morn that await a joyful reâ€" surrection.
