By-laws were then introduced (1) to provide for the Equalization of the As- sessments for 1893; (2) to assess the several townships in sums equivalent to the Government Grant to Public Schools for 1893; and (3) to provide for certain current and necesqary ex- penses and were given their first and second readings. On motion the deputation from the Township of Woolwich supporting the petition for the erection of a bridge be- tween Woolwich and Pilkington were given leave to be heard whereupon the Council was briefly addressed by Mr. Nicklin of Pilkington showing the ad- vantage and convenience the bridge, if constructed, would be to quite a. large number of the farmers iu the vicinity is cilled to our new line of bi-focal spectacles, People requiring glasses for both distant and near vision should call at the White Drug Store, Berlin, and examine our stock.
