- The Diamond Jubilee History of the Diocese of Hamilton with a Complete History of the County of Waterloo was published in 1916. This book explains the history of the Catholic Church in Waterloo County up until the year of its publication. The section on the town of Waterloo begins with a short general history of Waterloo then it looks at early Catholic settlers and their churches, with a particular focus on St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. This section also contains a series of photos of St. Louis Catholic Church and the people who were involved with it.
Father Theobald Spetz, the author of this book, was instrumental in creating the first Catholic Church in Waterloo. He was the priest at St. Louis Catholic Church from 1891-1911. - Notes
