Born: 1858, died: 1923
Married: Catherine Ford

William Hogg was born in Galt in 1858. After he married Catherine Ford, they moved to Waterloo where he was engaged in the produce business. In 1888, with partner Mr. Habbick, he purchased the wood and coal business of Levi Graybill and Cleason Shantz. This business was located on Erb St W just across from the point where Caroline St ended. In a few years, Mr. Habbick left the partnership and Hogg continued expanding the fuel business as opportunities arose. By the time of his death, he had an extensive business in Galt, Kitchener and Waterloo. The family lived at [Blank spot on original document] King St S and this later became the home of Edgar Bauer. He attended the Presbyterian Church on George St. For relaxation William was an avid lawn bowler in the summer and did a lot of curling in the Winter.
