- Description
- These photos were taken on March 17, 2006. They show the in-progress demolition and renovation of the old Bauer Industries buildings. Portions of the original building were kept and converted into storefronts, and additional buildings were built on the property.
Bauer's Industries was built in 1888 by Aloysius Bauer to manufacture cotton batting and cotton flock for bedding and furniture. They began making seat-cushion padding for cars in 1915 and continued with a variety of insulation products for cars until the plant was closed in 2001. - Notes
