Description
This is a handwritten biography of Frank Haight from the Ellis Little Papers. This biography has been transcribed exactly as written. Ellis Little was a local historian, who was the principal of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School. On his retirement, he invested much of his time in researching and writing about Waterloo's history. The Ellis Little Papers consist of extensive notes, papers and historical works.

Frank Haight was born in Markham, Ontario. He came to Waterloo in 1885. He went to work for the Waterloo Mutual Fire Insurance Company. When C. M. Taylor died in 1898, Haight was named Manager and Secretary of the Company. In 1924 he was named Vice President of Merchants Casualty Company, which in 1928 was amalgamated with the Economical Insurance Company. As his obituary stated he was "a man of rare ability" contributing much to the growth of the company he represented.
