Born: 1805, Died: 1904
Married: Annie Whitmore
Joseph Good, a son of early Waterloo pioneer John Good, is usually regarded as the first real physician in Waterloo. Joseph's training for this profession is somewhat of a mystery. His father was known as a "healer" using his knowledge of herbs and some medicines to minister to ordinary ailments of those same pioneers back in the 1870s. Perhaps Joseph learned his skills from his father. No medical graduation records have been found but by 1833, Joseph was practicing his profession in early Waterloo. Joseph built a home out on Albert St N that we know today as Lucinda House. In the 1880s he moved his practice to Formosa Ontario where he died in 1904.
