- Exterior of the residence of Dr. Philip A. Voelker at 36 Young Street west. The house was built in 1849 by Barnabas Devitt (wife Magdalena Shoemaker)the adopted son of Abraham Erb, the founder of Waterloo. The Voelkers bought the house in 1940 and Dr. Voelker had his medical practice there as well as his residence.
- Notes
- The house was designated an historical site in 1977, and the first historic site in Waterloo to be commemorated with a plaque in 1978.
