George Dietz owned a farm out on Erb St. W at Westmount Rd (today). Sadly, he was killed in a farm accident when one of his horses kicked him. When a new subdivision was created from part of his farm in the 1950s one of the streets, Dietz Ave., was named after him.

- This is a handwritten biography of George Dietz from the Ellis Little Papers. This biography has been transcribed exactly as written. Ellis Little was a local historian, who was the principal of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School.On his retirement, he invested much of his time in researching and writing about Waterloo's history. The Ellis Little Papers consist of extensive notes, papers and historical works.
