Description
This is a handwritten biography of Theodore Bellinger from the Ellis Little Papers. This biography has been transcribed exactly as written. Ellis Little was a local historian, who was the principal of Elizabeth Ziegler Public School. On his retirement, he invested much of his time in researching and writing about Waterloo's history. The Ellis Little Papers consist of extensive notes, papers and historical works.

Theodore Bellinger was an early merchant in Waterloo. In 1870, Henry Zoellner moved his drugstore from Unit One in the commercial block at King St and Erb St E. Bellinger first rented and purchased this store from owner Jacob Bricker and opened an up-to-date general store. A young lad of 15 Jacob Uffelman, helped in the store. In 1877 he sold his general store to Cyrus Bricker. About 1882 Bellinger built a large brick home on George St.
