Albert Beaupre grew up in Waterloo and became a painting contractor, a business that he carried on for 56 years. He also operated a retail paint and paper store on King St. He was a member of St Louis Roman Catholic Church and Holy Name Society. Beaupre retired in 1962 and died in Avondale Nursing Home at age 91 in 1964. He had a large family of six sons and five daughters. One of his sons Harold , followed in his father's footsteps working in the store when a young man. After a stint serving in the Second World War, Harold took over the Beaupre Paint and Wallpaper store in 1946. After a couple of moves, one due to a fire, he changed the name to Beaupre Interiors. When he retired in 1979 he followed his hobby of many years and opened a shop called Beaupre Stamps where hobbyists could buy for their own collections.
