- Description
- This is the personal diary of Albert Schmuck from the year 1930-1931. The majority of the diary is similar to a planner, with each day of the year having its own section. The daily entries reflect his life in Waterloo as a postmaster and a father. Inside there is also a calendar for 1930, postal rates, a section for personal memoranda, and a personal accounting section.
Albert Schmuck held the position of Waterloo Postmaster from 1928 until his death in 1933. Albert Schmuck served in the 118th Battalion during the First World War and died from injuries sustained from mustard gas attacks.
The notebook has the branding of The Pilot Automobile and Accident Insurance Company, Limited on the cover. The company was founded in April of 1927, in Waterloo with David McIntosh as the organizer and the Honourable William D. Euler, Minister of National Revenue acting as the first President. Pilot is now a member of the Aviva Canada group of companies. - Notes
