- Notes
- In 1894 a Board of Park Commissioners was established and land purchased which was improved and construction of a 5 acre lake in a creek took place. It was officially opened on August 27, 1896.
The bust of Kaiser Wilhelm I placed in the park in 1897, was thrown into the lake in Victoria Park in 1914 at the start of World War I. It was moved to the Concordia Club and in 1916 it was stolen and paraded through the streets of the city and finally disappeared while in the possession of a drunken mob.
Berlin was changed to Kitchener in 1916.
