- Postcard of interior of first Berlin Public Library building (later Kitchener Public Library) at Queen and Weber Streets. Note the woodwork, electric globe lighting and newspaper racks.

- Library established in town hall in 1884. In 1897 a lot was purchased at Queen and Weber Streets and a grant was obtained from the Carnegie Foundation in 1902, the building erected in 1903 and opened in January 1904.
In May of 1962 a larger library was built at 85 Queen Street north.
Berlin became Kitchener in 1916.
