Description
Tintype portrait of two women in dresses and hats with table with potted plant in front.
Notes
Tintypes were patented in 1854 and were commonplace for decades. Before the carte de visite, they were the only alternative to more expensive types of photographs. In the 1890s they were popular as a quick and inexpensive image, but their use waned in the early 1900s.
