I remember a young, somewhat nervous young school boy in 1964 starting grade 1 in this beautiful new school, Lincoln Heights. I don’t see myself in this picture (not my class) but I have fond memories of being on that circle in 1967 when the Union Jack came down and Canada’s new flag went up the pole for the first time. A proud day indeed. I have since been trying to find a favourite teacher from that era but no luck. Mrs. Cook, if you’re still out there, I just want to say thank you and I’m truly sorry I missed you at Lincoln’s 50th reunion. You were a positive influence in my life and I’m sure many others!
