- Dominion Life established in 1889 as Dominion Life Assurance Company. From 1899 to 1912 shared building at 28 King Street North with the Waterloo Mutual Fire Insurance Company. In 1912 Dominion Life moved to a building at 14 Erb Street west at Albert Street formerly owned by the Mutual Life Assurance Company of Canada (formerly Ontario Mutual Life Assurance Company)
Head office was moved to this building at 111 Westmount Road S. in 1954. Company bought by Manulife in 1985. This building became offices for Economical Insurance Company. - Date of Original
