- St. Louis congregation began in 1889 when Waterloo Catholics petitioned Reverend Louis Funcken of St. Mary's Church, Berlin (Kitchener) for a Catholic church in Waterloo. The church building was dedicated on January 6, 1891.
In 1909, the church was struck by lightning and a fire broke out. This photo was taken after the repairs were made and the landscape was updated. - Date of Original
