The congregation began in 1925 consisting of Mennonite refugees from the Ukraine. The congregation originally rented an old German club at 90 King Street North.

The building at 15 George Street originally housed St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, who moved to join the Methodist church at the corner of King and William Streets (now First United Church). 15 Geroge Street was made available in 1927 by the United Church of Canada.

Dating of the photo based on the bumper of the car that can be seen on the right side of the photo.
