Notes
The Waterloo Mutual Insurance Company was established in 1863 as the Waterloo Mutual Fire Insurance Company. In 1952 it began handling all types of insurance and the "fire" was dropped from the name. In 1980 Waterloo Mutual joined the Economical Insurance Group and changed its name to Waterloo Insurance Company. Circa 1988 the Waterloo name was dropped in favour of Economical Insurance.

The building was constructed in 1879 and occupied in 1880 by the Ontario Mutual Life Assurance Company. The building was later occupied by the Dominion Life Assurance Company, Canada Health and Accident Assurance Company and by Waterloo Mutual Fire Insurance Company. The building underwent extensive renovations and became a division of the Waterloo Regional Police Department in 1991.
