Mr. Penfold was born in Sussex, England Dec. 30, 1823. He emigrated to Canada in 1832 and settled in Pilkington Township in 1844, on lot 64 in the German Company’s Tract. He was the first settler on the west side of the Grand River, between West Montrose and Elora. - Place of Publication
