My 2X Great Grandfather, Rev. John G. MacGregor, was the first minister who served at Knox Presbyterian Church, Elora , Ontario, Canada. The church was built in 1844. Rev. John G. was inducted in 1847. His son, Malcolm, was a Canadian Mounty. Malcolm's son, John Frederick, was born in Guelph in 1878 and sold farm equipment. He made his way into the United States around 1900. He married Ruth Jowett and had my father, Rob Roy MacGregor, and three others in Salt Lake City, Utah. John Frederick died in Los Angeles in 1931 from a heart attack when my dad was twelve years old. Rob Roy (Bob) was an airconditioning/refrigeration contractor in Los Angeles, CA. Any further info you might have on Rev. John G. MacGregor would be greatly appreciated.
