Lane's Bakery was located on Lutz Street in Moncton, New Brunswick. Unfortunately, I do not know who the people are in the photo.

Hello, I think one of the owners was Michael Lane.

My mother Odette Bourgeois, born in 1931, worked at Lane's Bakery part-time as a teenager. It was owned by her godfather, Francis Lane. His wife Mary - Marie(?) - (née Leblanc) was my grandmother's sister. They had 3 daughters: Helen (m. McAdam), Sylvia (m. Wulf), and I can't remember the name of their oldest daughter. Francis Lane did indeed sell the bakery because he had no sons to pass it on to, but I didn't know it was to Ben's Bakery. I can't remember when Francis died. I do remember him bringing crates of lobsters when we used to vacation near Shediac during the 1960s.

I'm sorry don't know the people in the picture.

My name is Lane Francis Collins. My grandfather's name was Francis Lane. Back in 1964, I'm in the bakery and waiting for a donut, any donut to be transported along that moving conveyor belt into my little hands.

Since I wasn't tall enough, I couldn't see what was coming I had to wait until one came within my grasp. It was a toasted coconut and have been my favourite donut ever since.
