"jobs to local workers" "These two projects will provide more jobs to local workers," said Lake Nipigon MPP Giiles Pouliot, on behalf of Natural Resources Minister, Bud Wildman. The allocation includes $172,000 to provide 93 person weeks of employment to construct a 3200 square foot storage building and $124,000 to provide 42 person weeks of protection equipment, now kept in a series of small wooden huts, will be stored in the new building, said Ron Running District Manager for the MNR in Terrace Bay. "With this funding we're going to be able to remove at least some of those sheds and build one, secure, cold storage building," he said. Tenders for the construction project will probably be sought in the early spring, he added. "A round table discussion with four or five ministers and eight or ten delegates would be a very comfortable number," said Joy Neill, -giigcomea of NOACC, "They will be able to discuss a particular issue and points relative to it as pointed out by our resolutions," she explained. Neill was the guest speaker at the fourth annual meeting of the Aguasabon Chamber of Commerce held on Feb 21, in Terrace Bay. She said the old format, where the group presented its resolutions, did not allow for a lot of discussion. "There wasn't the same dialogue because of the format used. It was very structured." The resolutions bring specific concerns to the attention of the cabinet, she told Chamber members, but NOACC also wants to educate the ministers about North- western Ontario and what it requires to work economically. The NOACC delegates will be meeting with the provincial cabinet March 27. Resolutions from local Chambers of Commerce are presented at NOACC annual meeting and must receive unanimous approval before they are taken to cabinet. Neill said that NOACC has had 75 per cent success in getting action from the' provincial government in the past because the cabinet knows that each resolution has this unanimous support of the business community.
