Schreiber Rec News Swim Program- The first session of swim lessons are now in progress. We are now accept- ing registration for the second session scheduled for July 30th to August 17th. Deadline is Friday, July 20th at 4:00 p.m. B.O.0.M. Program- There are still a few openings for this year's introductory sailing and racing program. The session will be held July 30th, 31st, and August Ist at White Sand Beach and is open to children 7 to 13 years. Registration is limited to the first 10 participants. A regional regatta will take place in Red Rock on August 2nd. Avoid disappointment- register now. Summer Playground- Our Annual Playground Program is in full swing at the Schreiber Public School. The Munchkins (ages 4 to 6) meet from 9:30 to 12:00 noon and the Munsters (ages 7 to 12) from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. There is lots happening from floor hockey, baseball to paper mache. The first special event for the sea- son is a hike to Schreiber Beach on Thursday, July 12. Note that munchkins will be cancelled on this day. To register for this event simply stop by the public school gym. Canada Day Run/Walk- At 9:55 a.m., the rain poured and the thunder rolled across the sky while 32 participants stood antici- pating the worst. Nipigon's Bryan Blanchette came in with 16.59 and third was Terrace Bay's Mickey Jacques with 18.12. The first female to cross the line was Helena Gellert with a time of 21.33. At 21.44, Holly Smith crossed and received the second place position. Def Fummerton completed with 21.58. Terrace Bay Rec News Programs Swimming Lessons- Please note: The July session for swim- ming lessons was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 3 but will be delayed by one week, due to staff training. Lessons will now start on Monday, July 9th, and end on Friday, July 27th. Schedules and list will be posted by the pool. Summer Playground- This program is scheduled to begin on July 3rd and end on August 24th. the following times have been set up for each session: Ernie and Bert- 10:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m., Tot Lot- 1:00 - 2:30 p.m., Summer day Camp- 2:45- 4:15 p.m. All registered participants are asked to report to the Arena at the above times. Tourist Information Centre- Our T.I.C. is located in the Boy Scout's Hall. This year's staff include Marion Burns, Evelyn Cornfield, Michelle Waldenberger and Jennifer McLeod. Drop in and visit our Centre. Please be sure to direct this summer's tourists to the Centre. Spencer, her 8 sons, Marvin, Terry, Tracy, David, Ronnie, Roger, George Junior and Wayne, her 6 daughters Aloma, Donna, Shirley- Ann, Audrey, Brenda and Wanda, her one sister Francis Sullivan, also 38 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren.
