At the Lee Aaron concert there were 5 liquor seizures and one narcotics charge. Sgt. Templar mentioned that the security at the arena for the con- cert was the police's initiative. Sgt. Templar also hopes to get a new program for bicycle safety going. "We would like to take kids about 10 at a time on bicy- : cle. Constable Logan will lead the way ona bike through town and show them the proper way to use their bikes through traffic. This will be with parents' permis- sion." Demonstration Peter Doig. reported about the 2 hour open house demonstration at the fire hall to show the new pumper and rescue unit. He also mentioned a 5 year phase-in of fireman equipment (clothing). 'News & Views Rev. Bob Elkin will be trustee to the Schreiber Library Board. Dr. Scott will be leaving on May 18. Another temporary doc- tor will be arriving on June 22nd. Mrs. Betty-Anne Klassen, Asst. Administrator at McCausland Hospital, is trying to get a doctor that will stay here for a year. The concern of the blocking of the Main Street crossing was brought up again at Tuesday's meeting. No bulletin had been put up at the CP Rail Station about the blocking of crossings. "There is a safety order that no engine can obstruct a crossing for more than 5 minutes but it's hasn't been fully enforced in Schreiber yet." Councillor Ron McBride stated. A letter will be written to J.D. Champion, Superintendent of CP Rail in Sudbury, that train crews have not been notified of the Main Street crossing.
