In volleyball, the junior boys defeated Geraldton 15-8, 15-8, 15-10. Senior boys won by scores of 15-3, 15-6, 15-13. In junior girls basketball, LSHS won over Geraldton 19-18 and the senior girls won 50-44. Now that all residents under the jurisdiction of the LSBE are assessed and required to contribute to the cost of educa- tion and bussing, it would appear that in the interest of fairness this essential service should be pro- vided on an equitable basis." And although a representative of the Minister of Education said he fully supported the Keatings' requcst, he said the final decision is the board's. Bill Keating said they plan to pursue the matter, possibly turn- ing it into a political issue.
