DONT President Shirley Mikus wel- comed members and special guests to the regular meeting of D.A.G. Thursday, June 29 in McCausland Hospital Lobby. Representing the Hire A Student Group, J. J. Kenney pre- sented Vice-President Pat Auger with a cheque for $56. This sum had been raised by the group in a car wash they had organized and worked on. Appreciation was expressed by Pat to J.J. Still another donation was in the offing and following a discus- sion on the sum, Jack Patterson presented a donation from D.A.G. to Lifeline Chairperson, Gertrude Cotton, in the amount of $500. Elaine Mannisto spoke on the "Nearly New" clothing collection and the sum realized to date. Alma Hart had volunteered to collect items of clothing and Elaine will deliver them to Thunder Bay. Funds realized through this effort will be put in D.A.G.'s account. Further dona- tions to Lifeline may be made as needed. Alma and dorothy Plourde . reported the sidewalk by Spadoni's is very rough and also there is a problem area near the entrance to the Schreiber Library. The Secretary was requested to write Schreiber Council re: improvements in these areas. Mr. Cassie recommended those requiring help, phone ahead for service and a clerk with available desk and chair will be at their dis- posal. Elaine Mannisto and Gertrude Cotton updated members on the progress with the LIfeline project. Monies had been pledged and on receipt of this, an order could now be placed.
