The meeting was cpened with the League Prayer and was offered for the Souls in Purgatory and any of our family members who may be ill. Marg read the scripture reading. Marylyn read the minutes of the previous meeting. Diane pre- sented the treasurers' report; cor- Nickel leads Ontario mining In 1985, the total value of metallic and non- "metallic minerals produced in Ontario was $3.66 billion. Nickel was the leading mineral, with a total value of $968 million. This was followed by copper at $554 million and uranium at. $519 million. Gold, zinc and iron ore also made up major com- ponents of Ontario's 1985 mineral production. Gold production was valued at $440 million; zinc at $341 million and iron ore at $227 million. respondence was read; the con- venors reports were read. Claire has memberships for Pro-Life. Kathleen received a letter from the Holy Childhood Association, a group we save our pennies for. Carolyn read:a resolution regarding a boycott of the UpJohn Company that produces drugs that will induce abortion. As members of the C.W.L., we are asked. to. support the boycott and to choose products from com- panies other than UpJohn. Dolores, our historian, showed us our original "Charter" from 1952; Nov. 23 will be our 35th anniversary. (INCLUDING ALL SALE ITEMS) TERRACE BAY ONT.| Dolores also gave her report for the month of October. Anna reported on the recent clothing drive; 129 boxes were sent to Red Lake and 125 boxes were sent to Armstrong. Thank-yous are to be sent to Lakehead Freightways and Acnonies for their support in delivering these boxes. Mary Rose gave her report on our very successful bazaar and thanked. all who helped in any way. : Sharyn congratulated Mary Rose on a job well-done. Claire reported on the Remembrance Day Service, held Saturday, November 7. Luigina gave her report on the luncheon for the Crime Prevention Seminar; it was a huge success. A farewell gift was given to a a departing member. A Diocesan Study Day and Workshop will be held in St. Agnes Parish in Thunder Bay on Nov. 13 and 14. A letter from the McCausland Hospital regarding the proposed extended health care unit was. read. A motion was made that we pledge our support.
