Terrace Bay-Schreiber News, Wednesday, September 16, 1987, page 17 Local girl to assist new figure skating instructor Local girl Kimberleigh Callaghan, as a volunteer assis- tant, will help the new Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club Professional, Lucinda Smith, this season. Kimberleigh has her 3rd Figure, Senior Silver Dance and Junior Silver Freestyle. This summer Kimberleigh was in Manitoba where she competed Correction The Schreiber detachment of. the Ontario Provincial Police has informed the News that Pat Dingwald of the North Shore Ambulance Service was in fact wearing his seat belt when his vehicle collided with another near Filane's Fallen Rock Motel on August 10. Also, the editorial in the Aug. 19 issue of the News stated that this accident was caused by an improper left-hand turn by Dingwald. Although Dingwald was charged with this violation, he has informed the News that he is pleading not guilty to it. It should not have been assumed he was guilty of the charge. The News regrets any inconve- nience and/or embarrassment this - may have caused Dingwald or anyone else involved. Letters to the editor Mrs. O. Chapman, reeve of Terrace Bay, re: Program for Renewal, Improvement, Development and Economic Revitalization (PRIDE)- Application for the 1987-88 Program Year- The review of municipal applications for funding under PRIDE for the 1987-88 program-year has now been completed, and I am pleased to inform you that the Township of Terrace Bay has been allocated $120,000 by the Province of Ontario. In view of the limited avail- ability of program dollars, the funds under PRIDE should be directed toward strategic improve- ments which achieve both provin- cial and municipal objectives. My staff will be contacting your staff in the immediate future to assist in the identification of these critical project components and to discuss detailed aspects of program administration. It should be noted that no money can be spent on the imple- mentation of the PRIDE proposal until the requisite community improvement plan has been approved. Lucinda's | Coaching Certification is as follows: Level 1- Theory, Technical and Practice; Level 2- Technical, Theory and Practical; and Level 3- Theory and Technical. Lucinda is also a qualified Power Skating instructor. She will instruct the Figure Skating pro- grams in Terrace Bay and Schreiber and she will also instruct Power Skating to Terrace Bay Minor Hockey and Ringette.
