Auxiliary Happenings Auxiliary meeting The May meeting of the McCausland Hospital was held on May 19 in the hospital cafeteria with 16 members present. Regular committee reports were presented. Special guests were Miss Jessie Wilkes and Miss Stacey Wallwin who presented their oral com- positions on "Single-industry Towns" and "Parenting" respectively. Those present thoroughly enjoyed both compositions. The auxiliary would like to have at least one "Love Seat" to loan for infants discharged from the hospital- these seem difficult to come by. The members will try to find a secondhand approved infant car seat that is in good shape. Premier writes continued from page 4 Lavallet, the president of Kimberly-Clark of Canada Ltd. and with Mayor Beaulieu to discuss the sawmill situation and other related issues. A subscription to the Times- News was purchased so a daily paper will be available for pa- tients' use in the Patients' Lounge. Tickets for our Father's Day $500 cash draw were distributed to members to sell. The auxiliary would like to provide a "Reader Service" for patients in the hospital who are unable to read themselves. We need to recruit people who - are willing to spend perhaps one hour a week to read. It was felt that a reader should be the same person for continuity for the pa- tient, if at all possible. The Gr. 1 students from the Terrace Bay Public School presented the play "Three Billy Goats Gruff" under the direction of Mrs. Dora Trach for.the pa- tients on May 4. The students were a delight to all who were in attendance. Cookies and juice were provid- ed by Jennifer Gatz and her staff for the children before they returned to school. Auxiliary members wil take part in the Canada Day Celebra- tions where possible. Plans are progressing for a Christmas Fashion Show to be held in late November on a Sun- day evening. Volunteers are required for the Gift Shop. This involves two hours every second week in the afternoon or one hour for an evening shift. The wind-up meeting, June 15, will be a pot luck supper.
